Sing Up Day!

The annual Sing Up concert on 13th March was a celebration of all the many benefits and joy that singing can bring to singers and listeners alike, something we especially love to do at DSB! It’s been proven that singing supports physical, mental, emotional and social health development and also builds self-confidence, promotes self-esteem, engages emotions, promotes social inclusion and supports social skills. It’s an important and integral part of our music curriculum, especially in the primary school.

This year, Sing Up, A UK based organisation, commissioned the song One Moment, One People for schools around the world to sing together. We're proud to be the only school in India on the Sing Up map to be involved again this year. Before the grand finale and unveiling of the song, the audience were treated to a selection of songs by Kindergarten upwards, including an original rap written by Grade 5 about DSB and an exceptional performance by the Grade 10/11 all girls IGCSE acapella vocal group. Over seventy children then joined together for our Sing up Song, complete with actions and plenty of smiles! We're looking forward to seeing our clip as part of the final Digi choir, made up of performances of schools from across the globe on the Sing Up website soon.
