To create inter-culturally competent citizens of the global community, all students require a proficiency in languages. This is a fundamental and essential aspect of education at DSB International. Our outstanding education provides all students returning to their home countries with a mastery of English. Additionally, all DSB students learn German from Kindergarten to 8th Grade.
We also offer Hindi and French as other language choices. At the IGCSE and IB levels, students must study both a mother tongue as well as a second language. At the IB level, students can begin to learn German or French anew through an ab initio course. The learning of German or French as a mother tongue is also supported by our native-speaking teaching staff.
Students’ performance in German and French is tracked by tests from the respective nations, from beginners level, A1, up to higher levels including B2 or even C1 (a level sufficient to follow university courses studied in the native language), something which many of our students have successfully done. In German these evaluations are provided by Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD), and in French by Diplome d’etudes en Langue Française (DELF).
